EVERY VOICE EDUCATES Photography contest Rules

Eligibility:  The EVE Photography Contest is open to all legal residents of Spring Lake Heights from age 8 and up.

Entry Period:  The contest officially opens on 12:00 a.m. on July 1 and closes at 11:59 on July 31. (2016) Time is determined by the EVE email time stamp.

Rules for Submissions: Every Voice Educates is committed to providing opportunities where stories can be told and we have a passion for connecting communities.  For this contest we invite residents of the Heights to submit a photograph(s) that tells the story of how you ‘Celebrate Life in the Heights’.  Photos must be taken within the 1.3 miles of the SLH community.

To ensure eligibility for the contest, please submit files no larger than 20MB at the time of entry. Higher resolution files of at least 240 dpi/ppi may be requested should an entry be selected as a winning submission.

Entries may originate in any format — so long as they are submitted electronically in a .JPEG .jpg, or.png form. Any residents who do not want to pay electronically can drop off the entry form and payment at Benny’s Pizza on Route 71 in Spring Lake Heights.  Pictures must still be submitted to our email address at

Entry photos are to be emailed to with the following information:
Name of photographer/age
Name and contact information of adult approving of submission (if applicant is under 18)
Name of location of photo(Example:  Allaire Rd Park, corner of 6th and Warren, etc.)
Contact information should you win
Detailed caption of subject matter in under 40 words

Previously published material is not permitted.

If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining permission to include them in this contest.
The following submissions are ineligible:
Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright.
Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content.
Images that involve the willful harassment of animals, or damage to the environment by the photographer.
Images that involve putting any individual or animal in danger.
Images taken more than three years prior to the beginning date of the Contest (June 1, 2016).
Every Voice Educates shall determine entry eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion.

You may enter up to (5) photographs per email.  By entering, you indicate your unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding. You cannot win a prize unless you comply with all requirements in these Official Rules.
Photos will be judged on originality, technical excellence, overall impact, artistic merit and subject matter relevance to our theme “Celebrating Life in the Heights.”  Judging will be conducted by a panel of judges including EVE employees, community members, and guest judges to be selected by EVE.  The Panel will evaluate all valid entries and pick the following winners in the following categories:
1 Overall (2 winners. 1 first prize, 1 runner-up)  Your image tells an amazing story of ‘Celebrating Life In the Heights!’
2 Additional categories:
a People’s Choice (1 winner): Overall winner selected from the photos displayed in Heights’ businesses after the initial judges’ selections are revealed. Community members will vote during the community art reveal. Winners will be revealed online through our Facebook page.
b Young Photographers (2 winners): Best image capturing the theme by an 10 – 25 year old.
c Adult category (2 winners):  Best image capturing the theme by a 25 – 55 year old.
d Senior Snappers (2 winners): Best image capturing the theme by a senior 55+
e Heights Pride: (1 winner) Best depiction of Heights Pride while celebrating life in the Heights.
All potential winners will be revealed using the contact information provided during submission. Winning and honorable mention photos will be displayed in community businesses after selections are made.  A map of supporting businesses and corresponding art work will be revealed on our Faceook page by the end of July.
All judging decisions are final. Please do not contact us about the status of entries or judging.
EVE will notify the winner via the contact information provided at the time of entry.
By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless EVE, our social media channels,  from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the the EVE photo contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Photo Contest; (b) technical errors; (c) printing errors; (d) late or undelivered mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Photo Contest; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property. You waive the right to claim any attorneys fees and any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
